Donations to the Diocese of New England
Did you know that the Pension Protection Act of 2006 is still in effect? It allows anyone to make a charitable gift directly from their IRA, 401K or tax sheltered annuity and get a tax break. You can instruct your broker or account custodian to make a gift directly to Diocese of New England and that gift does not have to be declared as income. You can’t double dip: you cannot deduct the gift as a charitable gift, but it is not taxable income, still providing a sizable tax break for many. This is especially valuable for those who are required to make minimum required distributions.
